Five Themes of Geography

The five themes of geography help better understand the relations between people and earth because they show how people justify and identify absolute/definite locations. They also help people with understanding the basic physical and human characteristics of an area. Additionally, the Five Themes of Geography help people understand how goods, people, and ideas are moved around in a certain area. Also, The Five Themes of Geography benefit people by showing how people adapt, alter and use the environment based on what they are provided with. Lastly, The Five Themes of Geography help people better understand the basic physical and human characteristics of a general areas.

I think that Region it is hardest to understand because you have to identify the human and physical characteristics of a large/general area. It is hard for me because I struggle with finding what areas I’m looking at. Also, It is hard for me to find the characteristics that apply to all of the areas.

Over the past week, while working with maps there has been some difficult things and some fairly easy things. One thing that I found easy while working with the maps was locating where the continents are and what the names of all of them are. I found this easy because after looking at the maps for a few minutes it became easy to locate all the continents. On the other hand, one thing that I struggled with was definitely making the scale. It was very difficult because in previous grades we didn't do a lot of work with them and it was confusing when you had to look at the other maps and your maps latitude and longitude and include it into your scale. Overall, map skills are very important because without them we would have no clue where we are and what is around us.
